There are several ways to accomplish this:

2) Go to www.bcswan.net, hover your cursor over COMMUNITY, click on Looking For Employment, then follow directions above.
3) Go to www.bcswan.net, click on Administrative Divisions, then click on Human Resources, then click on Employment Vacancies.
2)  Q I am an employee, how do I search current "internal only" posted vacancies?
A
Internal vacancies can only be viewed from the HRMS website, which you can access at any school location, or at Central Office. Go to http://10.1.1.13, then click on Job Postings. (You do not need a username/password) Internal Postings are not posted externally on the web, and can only be viewed by current employees. All internal only vacancies will be posted for a minimum of 5 business days.
3)  Q I am interested in driving a school bus, how do I apply?
A
Thank you for your interest in working with Brunswick County Schools. To drive a school bus or activity bus, the county requires that you first take a six-day course (three days of classroom -based instruction and three days of driving practice). You may register for this class by completing the Bus Driver Questionnaire, located under our forms section on the home page, and contacting the Transportation Division at (910) 253-2878.

After you have completed the course in a satisfactory manner, you will be required to obtain your Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Candidates will be required to furnish BCS with a completed Criminal History Check form, tax forms, and an I-9 form for employment processing purposes. For more information on the next bus drivers' course, or if you have any questions, please contact the Transportation Representative at (910) 253-2878.
4)  Q I am interested in becoming a substitute teacher. What process do I need to take?
A
BRUNSWICK COUNTY SCHOOLS SUBSTITUTE TEACHER HIRING PROCESS - 2012-2013

Beginning immediately, the substitute hiring process will be aligned with the overall hiring process for BCS which requires the use of the on-line application. All applicants applying for a substitute teacher position must either have a current teaching license or an expired teaching license. Individuals making inquiries to serve as substitute teachers in our schools should be provided information as listed below.

All schools are expected to follow this process:

• Applicants will apply on line by completing an on-line application. (Applicants may indicate preferred school sites
during application process.) Applicants are encouraged to contact the schools directly to be interviewed.

• Schools needing substitute teachers will make an inquiry on the HRMS website for substitute teacher applicants..
(Additional information may be provided concerning special areas of need, i.e. special needs classes.)

• Principals will contact selected applicants from on-line list for interviews.

• Principals will interview applicants, make selection, send Personnel Selection Form and all necessary forms to HR.
(Social Security Card and Driver's License, copy of current or expired teaching license, plus 3 references will be sent to HR for processing)

• After the interview process, recommendations will be made to the Board of Education.

• HR will email selected applicants a PIN (Personal Identification Number) to complete all required forms at this point, i.e.,
Criminal History, MOU). When the CHC has been cleared another PIN will be emailed to the recommendation to complete
the remainder of the hiring forms.

• After Board approval, newly hired substitutes will be added to the district list and the respective school's sub list
and may be contacted to sub.

• After Board approval, Human Resources will inform applicants of the Board's action.
