Purpose, Beliefs, and Goals

At SMS, we have two fundamental beliefs.

  • We believe that all students can learn.
  • We believe that all students can and will make progress on the state assessments.

At SMS, the faculty and staff are focusing on four priority goals.

  • To increase student proficiency on math EOGs.
  • To increase student proficiency on reading EOGs.
  • To increase parental involvement and community perception of our school.
  • To increase collaboration between parents, teachers, students, and community.

Our Purpose: To create one American community whose strength comes from the  talent  and diversity of our students, staff, and community.

Our Path: To strive to improve ourselves, our school, our students, and our community each day.

Our Plan: To create an environment that encourages all students to strive for excellence in a school where rigor, relevance, and relationships drive instructional presentation, lesson planning, and student/faculty performance.
